Save the date, and plan to donate! The Central PA Blood Bank is planning a Community Blood Drive at Fairmount on Thursday, December 7, from 11:30am to 6:30pm. The blood drive will be held in the Farm Crest Community Room at 1100 Farm Crest Drive on the east side of the Fairmount campus.

According to the Central PA Blood Bank, “we’re at a critical need for blood right now. Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs lifesaving blood. Many patients who have major surgeries will need a blood transfusion. Additionally, blood transfusions are used for patients who have serious injuries from car crashes or natural disasters, and people with illnesses that cause anemia, like leukemia or kidney disease.

Please consider donating. Since there is no substitute for human blood, and donors are the only source, this is a wonderful gift to those in need from all walks of life.  Everyone who donates will receive two FREE admission passes to the Pennsylvania Auto Show, a certificate from Papa John’s for a buy-one-get-one-FREE large pizza, a FREE Penn Cinema movie pass, and a FREE Blood Donor T-Shirt. A form of ID is required to donate, and masking is optional.

You may schedule an appointment by calling 1.800.771.0059. Walk-ins are also welcome until 6pm, but scheduled appointments will be given priority. Please bring a photo ID with you when you come to donate.
