Fairmount’s 31st Annual Benefit Auction is set for September 11-12, although in a very different format than other years due to COVID-19 concerns. This year’s auction will be held online only, while Chicken Barbecue dinners will be sold at two drive-through locations: New Covenant Mennonite Fellowship, 529 E. Farmersville Rd. in New Holland and E.K. Martin & Sons Inc., 25 Wissler Rd. in Lititz. Both locations will open at 10am and continue until all of the chicken is sold. Proceeds from this year’s annual event will benefit the Sharing Fund, which goes toward the cost of care for residents who have exhausted their financial resources. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.

Online bidding for auction items will open Friday, September 4, and continue until Friday, September 11 when bidding will start to close at 6pm and proceed until all items have been sold. Auction items will be on display to preview in person at New Covenant Mennonite Fellowship for three days preceding the auction’s close: Wednesday, September 9 from 4pm–8pm; Thursday, September 10 from 1–8pm; and Friday, September 11 from 8am–8pm. Computers will also be available for bidders who do not have computer access from home. On Saturday, September 12, items can be picked up by winning bidders from 10am–3pm.

Auction items include Gift Certificates, Theme Baskets, Quilts, New Furniture, Specialty Items, Lawn Furniture & Plants. A new 5’x 10’ trailer from Burkholder Manufacturing will be among the items to be auctioned, and again this year, a Quality Assurance Certified Angus steer will be auctioned in eighths.

These items can be viewed online by clicking the Auction and Barbecue link from the Fairmount website at www.FairmountHomes.org. For anyone who does not have online access, an absentee bid form is available at the front desk of the Wheat Ridge building.
