Author and book designer Beth Oberholtzer and photographer John Herr will be coming to Fairmount on Wednesday, July 28, at 2:00 p.m. to give a presentation on their new book, Working Horses of Lancaster County. The event will be held in the Crest View Gathering Room at 1100 Farm Crest Drive on the east side of the Fairmount campus.
Oberholtzer and Herr, of Lancaster County, partnered on Working Horses, a one-of-a-kind book containing over 240 pictures. They also collaborated on Plain Meetinghouses, which celebrates Old Order Mennonite meetinghouses. Oberholtzer, who has a great fondness for horses, is a book designer for various publishers. John is an architectural photographer. In branching out to photograph equines, he built a special rapport with his subjects.
Both Oberholtzer and Herr will be on hand to sign books that will be available for purchase and to answer questions. The public is cordially invited, and while there is no charge to attend, space is limited, so please call 717.354.1893 to reserve a seat.
