A tax update seminar is planned for 1:45 p.m. on Friday, November 15, at Fairmount in Ephrata. The speakers will be Joyce Martin, EA, and Chris Frye, of Covenant CPA LLC. The seminar will be held in the Crest View Gathering Room at 1100 Farm Crest Drive on the east side of the Fairmount campus, and the public is cordially invited to attend. An Enrolled Agent with more than 25 years of tax experience, Joyce Martin joined Covenant CPA LLC in 2012. Joyce is responsible for tax planning and preparation for personal, farm, and business returns, as well as QuickBooks support. Joyce’s niche expertise lays in notice resolution with all government agencies, including the IRS, the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, and other local agencies. She has earned an Associate degree in Business at Harrisburg Area Community College, and a degree in Accounting from Elizabethtown College. She is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, a Notary Public, a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals, the National Notary Association, and the Board Vice-President of Crossfire.
Chris Frye is a graduate of Millersville University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. During his first year at Covenant CPA LLC, Chris quickly became a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and go-to guide for assistance in topics ranging from workflow to inventory. Chris is knowledgeable of how changes in tax law affect small businesses, estate planning, and individuals. Chris and Joyce are eager to inform the public about any changes in the 2019 tax year.
Topics of discussion will include: new forms and tax rates; standard deductions or itemizing; depreciation; 199A business deduction; credits; PA changes and updates. Time will be allotted for questions and discussion as well.
