Fairmount’s 35th Annual Benefit Auction is set for Saturday, September 14. This year’s Benefit Auction will be held at New Covenant Mennonite Fellowship, 529 E. Farmersville Rd. in New Holland. Proceeds from this year’s annual event will benefit the Sharing Fund, which goes toward the cost of care for residents who have exhausted their financial resources. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.

The day is set to begin at 6:30am with the opening of the flea market and a country breakfast (by donation) that includes eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, orange juice, and much more. Homemade donuts and coffee will be available for sale as well, and food stands will open shortly after breakfast. New this year is pork BBQ, rather than chicken BBQ as in previous years.

Auctions will open at 9:00am on Saturday, September 14, including a Silent Auction featuring Dining for Dollars events, which closes at 1:00pm, and a Children’s Auction at 1:45pm. On Saturday, September 14, items can be picked up by winning bidders until 4:00pm.

There are plenty of exciting activities for children as well, including a barrel train ride, a bouncy house, and the always-popular helicopter candy drop, weather permitting. Helicopter rides will also be available throughout the day.

Auction items include quilts, theme baskets, gift certificates, new furniture, specialty Items, lawn furniture and plants. A Quality Assurance Certified Angus steer will be auctioned in eighths again this year. For anyone who cannot attend the Auction, an absentee bid form is available at the front desk of the Wheat Ridge building. Absentee bid forms must be turned in by 5:00pm on Friday, September 13.
