Common Cents, a quartet originally from Montgomery County, recently reconnected, and will be performing a concert at Fairmount on Saturday, November 9, at 6:30pm. The concert will be held in the Farm Crest Community Room at 1100 Farm Crest Drive, on the east side of the Fairmount campus. The public is cordially invited to attend.

Common Cents started singing many years ago and recently reconnected to bring encouragement in a chaotic world. Many songs were written by the lead singer, Leroy Clemmer, now living in North Carolina, who shares some childhood memories. Leroy has suffered numerous accidents including a near-death experience in 1984; music helped him through the tough times while in a wheelchair. Merle Hunsberger suffered a series of strokes; God restored him to where he is once again able to play guitar and accordion. Lester and Martha Guntz sang in several groups throughout the years. Together, their talents include bass, steel guitar and keyboard. This group sings four-part harmony, with and without instruments. The music is uplifting, inspirational country-gospel music. The goal of the group is to bring glory to God, looking at life on the positive side but also enjoying clean humor. Come and be encouraged!
